WE tv’s Wedding Cupcake Recipe!
Thanks, WE tv, for sending me this recipe for a DIY lemon cupcake tower! I do love lemon, and the recipe, which comes from Laura Ditunno of New York City’s Cake Alchemy, also includes instructions for making sugar flowers! Cupcake Wedding Cake Lemon Cake
- 2 cups cake flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup melted butter
Sift together dry ingredients. Combine eggs and sugar and stir in cream. Then add dry ingredients and add melted butter. Pour into bakeable cupcake cups and bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until cake springs back to the touch. After the cake is baked, affix the decorate wrappers and decorate (see below for crystallized flower recipe).
Crystallized Flowers for Decorating Edible flower blossoms
- 1/2 cup Egg White Powder
- Few drops of water
- bout 1 cup superfine sugar
- A small paint brush
- A baking rack covered with waxed paper
Mix egg white powder and water and water until the consistency of an egg white. Brush delicately onto petals on the flower, then sprinkle superfine sugar over the surface. Let dry on a baking rack covered with waxed paper. Arrange cupcakes onto a cupcake tree stand for display.
